Sr. M. Anupa Ayyath

My Childhood
I, Sister M. Anupa Ayyath was born in Alleppey District, Kerala. My parents were the late Mr. Varkey and Mrs. Victoria. I was fifth among six children. I have two elder brothers, two elder sisters and one younger sister. My father and elder brother were very fond of me. My father was working in a coir, (coconut rope factory), and mother was a homemaker. After my birth, my father lost his job; he then began the business of coconuts and preparing flowerpots. He was very famous in my home town because of the beautiful flower pots prepared by him. My parents were God fearing and they used to go to Church daily to attend Holy Mass; I too was very much interested to go with them.
School life
I did my primary education in a government Co-ed school after which I was admitted to a Diocesan school where I was inspired by the sisters who were teaching me. From then I had a desire to become a Religious. After completing High School, my desire to become a religious was fulfilled through the parish priest. Fr. Thomas Vadakkekary, of the Raipur Diocese, visited our parish and told me about our Congregation.
On August 28, 1986, I came to Pithora. On January 25, 1991, I made my First commitment (Profession) to the Lord and on January 28, 1996, my Final Vows. On May 7, 2016, I celebrated the Silver Jubilee of my Religious profession.
Qualifications:
After my first profession, I completed a Secretarial course in Lucknow / Uttar Pradesh. In 2006, I successfully completed studies in a Master’s Degree Program, earning a degree in Social Work.
Apostolate
I did book keeping in our Convents in Raipur and Ramgarh. Since 2006, I am engaged in Social work. I extended service to St. Joseph Social Service Society, Faridabad/Haryana and to the Bareilly Diocesan Social Service Society/Uttarakhand. Currently I am the administrator, as Sister in charge, of Social work activities in Assisi Bhawan, Ramgarh/Jharkhand.
Conclusion
I thank the Almighty God for the wonder of my being. I thank my parents for the beautiful seed of faith sown. Their faith allowed the seed of faith to grow. I thank my Congregation for nurturing it through timely guidance, support and prayers. May God Bless us one and all!
